The air crash in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo, which killed 62 people in August last year, motivated a greater supervision of Voepass airline operations. Even so, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) pointed out that the company continued to breach the safety standards of flights.

At a meeting held this week, the entity confirmed the cassation, definitively, of the Air Operator Certificate (COA) of VOEPASS. This means that the area company can no longer carry out passenger air transport. It is not possible to appeal the decision.

VOEPASS has failed to comply with mandatory inspections

According to information from G1the rapporteur of the process at Anac, director Luiz Ricardo Nascimento, stressed that a systematic non -compliance with operational procedures was found by the company. In total, there were 2,687 flights made with proper maintenance -free aircraft.

Such behavior, of continuity of infringement conduct, was in no way expected for a regular operator after the serious accident with one of its aircraft occurring, as this fact is expected to succeed the increasing level of company alertness as a whole, a greater diligence in the execution of maintenance procedures, and a reinforcement in its system that aimed to protect flights.

Nascimento also stated that the airline failed to repeatedly comply with mandatory inspections after the tragedy in Vinhedo. Failure to do these works increase the chances of failure, malfunction or defects, threatening the safe operation of flights.

In a statement, the Ministry of Ports and Airports said that “the measure shows the agency’s commitment to preserve the air service in the country, ensuring safety of the operation to the user.” VOEPASS served 16 destinations on commercial flights.
