Israeli Katz Minister of Defense, said on Thursday that Israel and the United States are demanding that Iran delivered all its enriched uranium stocks, which, according to intelligence reports, were removed from bombed places during the recent 12-day war.
In an interview with Israeli channel Channel 13, Katz has stated that there is now a joint position between Washington and Tel Aviv, communicated to the Iranian regime after attacks on nuclear facilities in the Persian country. The episode marks a new chapter on tensions involving the three countries and the nuclear program of Iran.
In the interview, Israel Katz explained that the goal of the attacks during the war was “to neutralize all capabilities” of Iran, noting that “today they cannot produce a nuclear bomb because we also destroy the conversion installation that transforms uranium in solid form”. The minister pointed out that the nuclear material itself was not eliminated during the bombing, as “it was clear from the beginning that the attack would neutralize the surrounding infrastructure – it would not eliminate the (nuclear) material itself.” Katz added, “Now there is a joint American-Israeli position telling Iran, ‘You need to deliver this material.’
According to a report from the British newspaper The Telegraphpublished Thursday, based on an Israeli intelligence report, US President Donald Trump will demand to Iran’s Islamic regime that delivered all enriched uranium above 60%as a condition for any advance in peace negotiations expected to occur in the coming days. Still according to the The TelegraphTrump also plans to demand that Iran accept a prohibition on the additional uranium enrichment and strictly limit the production of missiles.
