SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Uber agreed a partnership with the Loggi Order Delivery Company, expanding its product shipping service, Uber Flash, throughout Brazil, companies said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
The new service, called the National Flash, will allow Uber customers to request the app collection by the application itself for delivery to more than 5.5 thousand cities where Loggi operates. Currently, Uber Flash allows only local shipments. According to companies, it is the first Uber -right partnership in the world.
According to the companies, a pilot version of the project is now available in Campinas (SP) and Curitiba (PR) and there is expected expansion of the service to 16 cities in the coming months.
Uber Director-General in Brazil, Silvia Penna, said the partnership strengthens the company’s strategy to expand Uber Flash for intercity and interstate deliveries. “Together, we are creating a new logistics alternative to send small orders across the country,” the executive said in a press release.
Under the partnership, the ordering request made in the Uber application will enter Loggi’s logistics network and shipping may be accompanied by the Uber application.
Last month, Uber also announced a partnership with iFood that allows users of the delivery platform to request Uber trips directly through the iFood application, while Uber users can access food delivery services, markets, pharmacy and iFood convenience through the Uber application.
The partnership between Uber and Loggi occurs shortly before the promised launch of a postplace by the Post Office, scheduled to debut in the first half of this year. The postplace of the Post Office is supported by infracommerce for the development of digital infrastructure.
