(Reuters)-A Russian attack with missiles in the Dniproperovsk region in Southeast Ukraine on Tuesday killed at least nine people, damaged the civil infrastructure and injured dozens of train passengers, officials.
The attack killed seven people in Dnipro’s regional capital, Governor Serhiy Lysak said, where the explosion wave also broke the train wagons and covered passengers with broken glass.
About 70 people, including 10 children, were injured, he said, adding that the numbers can still increase. Two people also died in the city of Samar, about 10 kilometers from Dnipro, the state’s emergency service said.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha asked Kiev’s Western partners to respond to the attack. NATO leaders are currently in Hague for an alliance summit, where President Volodymyr Zelenskiy hopes to ensure more military support against the large -scale invasion of Russia launched in 2022.
“It’s a matter of credibility for allies to intensify the pressure on Moscow,” Sybiha wrote in X.
He added that schools, day care centers and a hospital were also damaged in Dnipro. Authorities did not provide details about Samar damage.

Russia has intensified air strikes against Ukraine in recent weeks, especially against its capital, Kiev, where 28 people were killed on June 17 in this year’s deadliest attack.
Another 10 people were killed in air strikes in Kiev and the surrounding region on Monday.
