A 31-year-old man is accused of robbing a 7-Eleven at knifepoint near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Blair Boulevard.
Officers responded to the 7-Eleven around 2:30 p.m. June 24 after reports that a man, who was confronted for shoplifting items in the store, brandished a knife and threatened employees, according to Melinda McLaughlin, spokesperson for the Eugene Police Department.
An employee followed the suspect to a home in the 400 block of Monroe Street, police said. When officers arrived at the house, the suspect attempted to escape by running into a nearby backyard. The suspect eventually came out and turned himself in.
He was arrested and booked into the Lane County Jail on a misdemeanor warrant and charge of first-degree robbery.
