San Diego (FOX 5 / SI) — A wrong-way driver caused a traffic collision on I-15 south in San Diego Saturday afternoon, police report.
At least two vehicles were involved in a crash when a BMW SUV was reportedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 15 south in the HOV lane, closing several lanes of traffic just after 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Overturned vehicle blocks lanes on I-5 in North County: CHP
CHP reports a vehicle swerved out of the way of the BMW, which then hit another SUV while driving north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near the 52 highway interchange.
CHP reports at least one person was taken to the hospital following the collision.
All lanes on I-15 south were fully reopened to traffic by 5:10 p.m., according to Caltrans.
