We are talking, therefore, a gigantic and essential sector for our format of society. And that moves a lot of money.
It is in this context that Fastport is born, a new brand linked to the Japanese Honda and which intends to act in the so -called last mile operation. That is, the last step of sending the order to the customer.
And one of the pillars of this new company will be the sustainability.
Meet the Equad
- Equad is a 100% electric quadcycle for short distance deliveries.
- It will be officially presented with the brand’s launch, during the fair Eurobike 2025which occurs between June 25 and 29.
- Fastport will work with two models of this EV: one capable of taking up to 295 pounds and one with a capacity of 145 kilos.
- The measurements of their transport boxes are, respectively, 238.9 x 152.5 x 121.6 cm and 190.5 x 146 x 97.5 cm.
- If you have any questions, the first number refers to the length, followed by the width and finally the height.
- These are modest measures, but they can bring very large orders.
- The size of the one will have a great advantage: the idea is that the vehicle can use bike lanes in Europe and the US, thus running away from transit.
- And because they use this type of road, the speed cannot be high: it will be a maximum of 20 km/h.
- Finally, the vehicles will have a range of 37 kilometers with the total load.
- They, however, will not need to stand still for recharge.
- This is because they work with batteries Honda Mobile Power Pack (you charge them outside the vehicle and it continues to work with an extra battery).
State -of -the -art technology
Honda states that the Equad comes with the most advanced mobility systems. The accelerator pedal, for example, is a pedal-by-wire, ie electronic, without direct mechanical connection.
The quadcycle also has a regenerative braking system and automatic parking brakes. The driver’s cabin, in turn, can receive UV protection bonnet, as well as an internal fan.
According to the Japanese companyFastport will work within a model called Fleet-As-a-Service-or “Fleet as a Service” in the Portuguese translation.
This means that the company will offer other companies a full logistics service. And this includes vehicles itself, infrastructure, extra interchangeable batteries, technical support and even service and maintenance plans. Fastport also promises to offer tools of Artificial intelligence For management of fleets and drivers.
Honda will now conduct some pilot programs in Europe and the US-before starting mass production. There is no information on the arrival of this new company in Brazil.
