We are observing a dispute between the United States and China for global technological hegemony. The White House has imposed a series of sanctions in order to prevent Beijing from promoting advances in sectors such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor chipsconsidered strategic.
However, a report from Reuters points out that the Chinese are using the DeepseekModel of AI developed by the country, to circumvent these prohibitions. Because of this, the US studies further harming export controls.
Method guarantees access to Nvidia’s chips
According to a high employee of the White House State Department, who preferred not to be identified, China is using Southeast Asian facade companies. The goal is to access state -of -the -art semiconductors that could not be sold to the country.
Deepseek is critical in this regard, as AI can have remote access to Nvidia chips from date centers from other countries in the region. China’s government and the Chinese company did not comment on the matter.
Also according to the report, the heard employee said that the White House can implement sanctions against DeepSeek, but there is nothing defined in this regard. Nvidia said it does not condone any violations of export controls and is outside China’s data centers market.

Dispute for world technological hegemony
- Besides fostering National Chip Production and the development of artificial intelligence, the United States government tries prevent China’s access to the products.
- The movement has been called “chip war“.
- Beijing was prevented not only from importing the most advanced chips, but also from acquiring inputs to develop their own advanced semiconductors and supercomputers, and even American components, technology and software that could be used to produce semiconductor manufacturing equipment to eventually build their own factories to manufacture their own chips.
- In addition, US citizens can no longer get involved in any activity that supports the production of advanced semiconductors in China, whether maintaining or repairing equipment in a Chinese factory, offering consulting or even authorizing deliveries to a Chinese semiconductor manufacturer.
- Finally, the White House recently announced new rules in order to prevent Beijing from having access to products through third countries.
