Corinthians signed on Tuesday (24) a memorandum to renew the contract with Nike as a sports supplier of the club. The new agreement will be valid until 2036, extending the partnership that began in 2003.
The contract provides for payment of R $ 59 million per year to Corinthians. It’s practically double what you received so far. Another change is that the salaries will be corrected annually.
Thus, Corinthians is expected to close 10 years accumulating a similar value to what was offered by Adidas, something close to $ 1 billion. The renewal was initially reported by GE and confirmed by Estadão.
Corinthians’ approach with Adidas was during the management of Augusto Melo, currently removed. When Osmar Stabile took over, he adopted a speech of appreciation of club partners.
The deal with the American brand provided that the club has to warn in advance about a negotiation with a competing company. A meeting with Nike representatives was held last week and a counter -proposal was made by the American company.
If the club opted for Adidas, Corinthians could have to bear a legal fight with Nike. Augusto Melo’s management was willing to play the decision, which did not follow with Stabile.

The details of the contract were not disclosed. Sources heard by the report ensure that the contract is commercially better for the club.
A better delivery of materials for fans, who complained about the lack of shirts in stores, was also discussed. Success among the Corinthians, the All Black shirt launched last year spent a lot of time sold out in part of the points of sale.
The previous contract between Corinthians and Nike had been automatically renewed until the end of 2029, even without discussion between the parts to apply improvements. The commercial management has already approved the layout of the 2026 season shirt.

However, the club argued that the company transferred its operation in Brazil to Fisia Sports. Thus, Corinthians pointed to clause break, which would invalidate the extension. The question is resolved with the new agreement.
