Omead Affshar, a powerful Tesla executive and one of Elon Musk’s closest confidants, left the company, according to sources familiar with the subject, being the latest high -ranking outlet for a volatile period for the electric vehicle manufacturer.
The news of the departure has circulated internally among some employees in recent days, the sources said, who asked not to be identified when discussing internal information. The name of AFSHER apparently no longer appears in the internal directory, according to two of these people. The reason for change and its future plans were not clear immediately.
Some of the directors reporting to AFSHER now respond to Tom Zhu, Tesla’s senior vice president, according to some of the sources. The China -born executive supervises the Tesla factory in Shanghai and is one of the company’s three appointed executives.

Anehar, Musk, Zhu and Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
AFSHAR, who worked at the CEO’s office, was promoted last year to supervise sales and manufacturing operations in North America and Europe. These markets have been problematic points for the automaker recently, with sales falling due to increasing competition and consumers’ reaction to the role of Musk in the administration of US President Donald Trump.
This is the latest output of a prominent Tesla leader in recent weeks. Milan Kovac, head of engineering at the company’s Humanoids Rhoades Program, renounced the desire to spend more time with the family.

Jenna Ferruua, which is listed on LinkedIn as Human Resources Director for North America, also left Tesla and no longer appears in the company’s directory, according to familiar people.
Personnel changes mark a tumultuous year for Tesla, whose actions fell about 19% while the demand for their electric vehicle models decreased and musk spent time in Washington. The CEO is trying to reorient the company around artificial intelligence, robots and autonomous cars, recently launching a small number of the so promised Tesla robotáxis in Austin.
Tesla is expected to publicize global deliveries of the second quarter next week.

Tesla’s actions were briefly negative after the Bloomberg Report AFSHAR’s departure, and were practically stable at 1:57 pm in New York.
Time in Tesla
AFSHAR joined Tesla in 2017, according to her profile at LinkedIn, when the automaker was beginning to increase the production of Model 3 sedan.
“I was with Elon almost every day during the Model 3 hell,” he said in a 2024 publication in the X, the social media platform that Musk has. “This included Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, your birthday and almost losing your brother’s wedding.”

Affahar has been posting regularly on social networks in recent days, including several messages this week praising the launch of the robotaxi.
The executive supervised the construction of the Tesla factory in Austin. Member of the CEO office since 2017, his latest title listed on his LinkedIn page was a cowboy hat emoji.
He was under internal scrutiny in 2022 for his role in the purchase of hard -to -obtain building materials, including a special type of glass, Bloomberg reported.
It is not uncommon for executives to be transferred from one part of the musk empire to another, and Affhar worked on Spacex for a while.
Tesla has only three executives appointed: Musk, the chief financial officer Vaibhav Taneja and Zhu.
