On Saturday (21), President Donald Trump announced that the United States were directly involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran, conducting air attacks against three Iranian nuclear facilities.
B-2 was one of the vehicles used to carry out bombing, with its ability to reach strongly protected targets, such as Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.
How is the bomber B-2 Spirit
The B-2 Spirit, the United States Air Force Strategic Bomber, is named as one of the most advanced military vehicles in the country. With an estimated cost of $ 2.1 billion per unit, the B-2 is the most expensive military plane ever produced.

Made by Northrop Grumman, the development of the aircraft began in the late 1980s during the Cold War. He was impacted by the fall of the Soviet Union, which changed Pentagon plans, resulting in the manufacture of only 21 units.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, B-2 is designed to be virtually invisible even to the most sophisticated air defense systems. Its stealth resources, combined with the ability to fly long distances without refueling, make it one of the main assets of the United States.
The bomber can travel more than 11,000 km, capable of performing global missions, as already shown in operations that departed from the US towards Afghanistan and Libya in the past decades.
With capacity to carry up to 18 tons of weapons, B-2 can launch both conventional and nuclear weapons.
One of its most notable weapons is the GBU-57A/B bombs, known as “Bunker Buster”. Each pump weighs 13 tons and is designed to penetrate more than 60 meters of reinforced concrete, destroying fortified structures such as bunkers and underground installations. The pumps are guided by GPS, ensuring accuracy on the target.
In addition to the “Bunker Buster”: other B-2 Spirit weapons
In addition to the GBU-57A/B pumps, Bomberdeiro B-2 Spirit can also launch:
- JDAMS (Joint Direct Attack Municipalities), which are GPS guided bombs for high precision attacks;
- JSOWS (Joint Standff Weapons), which are planning bombs for long -distance attacks, without compromising aircraft stealth;
- Jassms (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles), which are long-range missiles capable of reaching targets over 800 km away with stealth technology.
