Title: Polarizing Filter for Smart Phones
Review: There’s a whole long list of the phones this will work on. Mine’s an iPhone 11 and this filter works flawlessly with it–even with the phone still in its case. That’s been a problem with other clip-on filters I’ve tried in the past. Wayyy back in the day, before I knew there were such things as filters, I would try to shoot through my sunglasses to get that gorgeous, juicy color. I don’t miss using my EOS Rebel SLR film camera, but I HAVE missed my filters. I am over the moon to have a polarizing filter again. Words cannot express. Get you one.Hmmm…I wonder if I could use my old star filter (LOVE) and magnifying diopters with this clip-on frame? Maybe with a step-ring? Whoosh. I think the top of my head just popped open… 😀

Title: Mixed Feelings
Review: Does this work…yes it does. Does it work as well as I thought it would…no it doesn’t. I’ll say upfront though, I am not a photographer. If I was I would probably be buying a polarizing lens for my camera and not my cell phone. Which brings us to the type of people who are probably looking at this. My cell phone takes decent pictures. Has a ton of auto adjust features that I’m clueless of (keep that in mind when looking at my pics). I like to go on hikes and look at the wild life. This includes critters under the water. If you’ve ever looked at the top of a pond without sunglasses you probably know that you can’t really see anything under the surface. Throw your sunglasses on and suddenly you can see into the depths (yes…because your sunglasses are polarized). Anyway the point of this was that I wanted to be able to take pictures of those same critters using my cell phone and that’s when I saw this. Figured I’d take a chance with it.So my mixed feelings has to do with just how much glare reduction this has. It does work, but not as much as I was expecting since I was comparing it to my sunglasses. Although my sunglasses are obviously tinted more, I would think the glare reduction would be similar. I took pictures in various environments to try and get a good range of scenarios with glare. I did the best I could to take the exact same picture with and without the filter so you can see the difference also.This is definitely easier than holding my sunglasses up to my cell phone when taking a picture that has glare…but also possibly not as effective on the other hand. For videos this is definitely superior since you certainly wouldn’t want to try the sunglasses trick with a video. Certain images do look better. But in the end I wasn’t really able to see in any depth in the ponds which was what I was really after…

Title: Works great – ALWAYS rotate your CPL filters until they’re working
Review: HUGE improvement.Please note, any time you see negative reviews on CPL filters for cameras, a good number of them don’t ROTATE the filter until it actually works. The direction of the light, the filter, etc.. makes a difference.Just clamp this to the phone, aim it at something showing any kind of glare or reflection, and rotate the filter until those things either go away, or in extreme cases, are lessened.Kind of wish it had a different mounting system, or maybe just a different clamp?? But the actual CPL filter works GREAT, and if you don’t mind the clamp, this is a must have at this price.
