Review: I don’t really go out of my way for chocolate flavored stuff, protein or otherwise, so this is actually the first chocolate flavored whey protein I’ve had I think. Pretty good though, just tastes like chocolate milk, no other strange artificial or otherwise tastes going on that I can detect, though I imagine I’m somewhat more desensitized to protein product tastes than some people might be. Protein density is about as good as you can really get typically.For the packaging, the bag top actually rips off clean like it’s supposed to, which should be the standard but this is like the only bag for any product I can remember ripping where it actually rips right, so credit where it’s due for that. The scoop it comes with also actually scoops the 32 gram serving size so that’s another plus.If you’re mixing by hand, this stuff stays a little on the chunky side, so about the average protein powder mixability, doesn’t really bother me but if that’s something important to you.A bit more expensive than the nutricost 2lb chocolate whey isolate equivalent, but if you want something with more ‘natural’ type vibes maybe that’s a price you’d be willing to pay.Overall I’d say it’s worth trying, no real negatives, you pay a bit of a premium for a lack of artificial elements, but it’s not too much and I’m sure that’s worth it for many people.

Title: Dietary Restriction Friendly Protein Powder
Review: I’ve been taking this protein powder for a while now and it’s been fine so far. The chocolate flavor is very mild, even with a full scoop and a half in milk. The flavor reminds me of those weak powdered chocolate mixes to make instant chocolate milk. That being said, the flavor isn’t horrible… just a bit weak when compared to other chocolate protein powders I’ve had in the past. It has a nice packing of 25g of protein in each serving, which is right on par with other powder mixes in this range.I think the main benefit here would be the super simple ingredients list, with a low amount of carbs and fats. Being sugar and gluten free is also a nice addition if you’re looking to keep those out of your diet or have a gluten intolerance.

Title: Clean protein that tastes pretty good.
Review: The only thing I don’t like about this protein is that it comes in a zipper bag that isn’t sealed before you open it, so you have to get a toothpick or fingernail or something to fish out all the powder that’s stuck in the “female” part of the zipper. It’s not a big deal, and that’s really my only big complaint.This protein powder is pretty awesome. It’s 85% protein by calories, which is very clean for this kind of whey. It tastes pretty good. Honestly, I’ve had better, but given that there’s no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors and also no sugar, this probably wins on the overall flavor scale. They have basically taken their flavoring method from the vegan protein powders where they just dump a lot of cocoa in it and say there you go. Works for me.This powder is reasonably easy to handle. It’s a little grainier than flour, so it sticks a little, but it’s not too bad. There’s no flyaways. It mixes well with the shaker and wire. There are no clumps or anything like that.Like I said, other than the zipper, this protein is fantastic.

Title: Pleasant Flavor, I Like It!
Review: Obviously if you’re eating protein powder, you’re trying to increase your protein intake. This particular powder’s protein level is higher than others I’ve had in the past with 1 scoop containing 25 grams of protein. However, the scoop is what I would consider larger than normal size, at nearly 2” x 2”. The first time I opened the bag, the plastic scoop was all the way at the bottom of the bag – I used a regular spoon to “feel” around until I found it and dug it out. This powder comes in a non-plastic bag instead of a plastic tub (like most) but the zipper seal never worked on mine so I have to use a clip to close it. I don’t do protein shakes so I can’t say how well it mixes in liquids. Instead I put this powder (1/2 scoop) in a big bowl of oatmeal. The taste is quite pleasant and very mild / not overpowering at all. The only other chocolate flavored protein powder I’ve had is the Aldi brand one and this one is definitely better IMHO. And it smells more of cocoa than whey which I appreciate.

Review: I was impressed with this protein powder. It is high quality isolate, which absorbs faster into your system. I really like the brief ingredient list, as it is much shorter than many others. I really like that it is not overly sweet, as I hate it when it is so sweet that I have to dilute with even more water. This is my favorite chocolate isolate so far.

Review: The summary in the marketing promo statement states, in a nutshell: “Premium Chocolate Grassfed Isolate, Post-Workout Recovery, Keto Friendly, Clean Nutrition Meal Replacement, Promotes Lean Muscle, Sugar and Gluten-Free.” These are all important attributes.I’ve been trying various whey protein products for the last several years and I love the one I’ve settled into using for the last two. But I can say that the “Purist” brand is true to its name. The deep chocolate flavor tastes great (including the aftertaste), it’s easy on the stomach, it blends thick and creamy in my daily smoothies, no sugar, low sodium, gluten free.My only criticism is price. “Purist” costs $20 more than my current “go to” product for the same amount of servings. And my “go to” is comparable or equal in taste and benefits. Regardless, the “Purist” brand has a minor edge in a couple of categories that don’t matter enough to me to justify the additional cost. Otherwise, I’m impressed by this product.
