New cold front is the first in winter

In the city of São Paulo, the North Zone can register cold record at dawn, with a minimum temperature of 4ºC. If this happens, it will beat this year’s cold record, registered on May 30, at Inmet station in Interlagos, which reached 8.8ºC.
If the temperature is lower than the 4ºC (which can happen at dawn), it can hit a record established on June 13, 2016, nine years ago, when the thermometers set 3.5ºC at Mirante de Santana.
Polar air mass should also bring precipitation to the state. The Civil Defense warned of heavy rains and winds, including hail. The alert is valid for the entire state of São Paulo.

This week’s cold wave should persist by Friday, June 27th.
However, after that, a second cold air pulse is scheduled for the end of the same week and may extend the low temperatures for some time.
