Iran’s authorities arrested 700 people accused of spying on to Israel on 12 days of war, according to Iranian news agency, linked to Iran’s revolutionary guard.
The agency has published a report on the wave of detention of persons accused of spying or being linked to Israeli espionage services (Mossad), among which there are at least two Europeans, and which they qualified as “Israeli mercenaries.”
“The mercenaries, which mainly operated in the context of espionage and sabotage networks, were identified and detained based on public reports and intelligence operations,” the agency said.
In addition, during these days the authorities carried out workshop operations, claiming that drones were manufactured allegedly used by Israel to perform attacks, and seized vehicles that transported explosives and other types of materials.
Iran’s theocracy has been accused of arresting people with double nationality in particular, but also from other countries, such as pressure measure or to exchange prisoners with other nations.
This has been called Iran’s “hostage” by other countries and human rights organizations.
The Hrana NGO, an Iranian group based in the United States, said that the Iranian security forces detained during the period of conflict with Israel, at least 286 citizens for expressing their opinions and another 537 for security -related accusations, including espionage.
And besides, the Oslo -based NGO Human Rights warned last week that Iranian authorities had increased repressive measures since the beginning of Israeli attacks and that two “political prisoners,” there Younesi and Hamid Kashani were transferred without warning from Evin’s arrest to an unknown place.
