All about Open
THE Microsoft is the largest investor of Openhaving already applied millions of dollars to the developer. However, this Partnership is Entering crisis. As reported by Digital Lookthe two companies live a moment of tension, including disagreements in asset control, strategic autonomy and even the investments themselves.
Despite the public cordiality of the companies, disagreements would be threatening the future of the partnership. OpenAi CEO Sam Altman talked to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about it last Monday (23). See how it was.
OpenAi and Microsoft in Crisis?
OpenAi is undergoing a process to adopt a hybrid structure, with a part with for profit. THE Digital Look has already explained how the developer regime will work here. However, Microsoft would be in disagreement about what will be its role (and its influence) in this new regime, especially in a scenario where the company will open its capital in the stock market and receive new investments.
Other disputes between the two involve strategic control, profits and even independence from the developer in relation to Big Tech.
A few days ago, it seems serious, with OpenAi executives having discussed the possibility of triggering regulatory authorities against Microsoft, claiming possible anti -specific practices. THE OD gave the details here.
Altman, CEO of OpenAi, revealed in the technology podcast of The New York TimesHard Fork, which had a “super nice” conversation with Microsoft’s CEO Nadella, about the future of the partnership.
When asked about the relationship (and friction) of companies, he replied, “Do you believe it when you read these things?” Despite confirming the tension between companies, he said it is something normal.
Obviously, in any deep partnership, there are points of tension, and we certainly have them. But in general, it has been really wonderful for both companies.
